Sending for signature

Routing order, roles, and what each recipient sees.

Roles and routing

A role describes what someone does to the document — who signs, who only reviews, who receives a copy. Routing order describes when they are asked.

  • Sequential: each signer is invited once the previous one finishes
  • Parallel: everyone is invited at the same time

What recipients see

A recipient sees the document meant for them and nothing else — not your other documents, not your account, not the other party's copy of anything.

They review section by section before the signing action becomes available, so "I never saw that clause" is answerable from the audit trail.

After sending

Each state change is recorded and, if you have configured webhooks, delivered to your systems. Polling is available as a fallback but webhooks are the primary mechanism.
